Common Questions I Get Asked

Q:Why are you vegan?
A: About 4 years ago I stopped eating meat to see if it would help my stomach from hurting. It helped so I stopped eating it. Since then I've done allot of research on animal products (meat & dairy) and concluded that for Myself and my Husband, animal protein, is bad for the human body. A good book to read on Vegan lifestyle is The China Study book.

Q: What is Veganism?
A: Vegans don't eat any animals, or any animal products. No, Vegans don't eat fish, or eggs, or cheese.
Some vegans don't eat honey, and don't buy any products that are made from animals, or where animals were harmed in the making of the product.

Q: What do you have for breakfast?

A: oatmeal with fruit and nuts, pancakes, muffins, protein shakes, cereal with almond milk, hash browns, fruit, vegan yogurt with nuts and flax, tofu scramble, and lots of other foods.

Q: How do you bake Vegan?

A: like everyone else, just have to reimagine chemistry. I use flax eggs to replace eggs, almond or coconut milk to replace milk and Vegan butter to replace regular butter.

Q: Where do you get your protein?

A: Animal protein is not the only source of protien. All vegetables have protein... If you eat just vegetable every day, your still getting protein. Spinach has a lot of protein in it, so do nuts, beans, tofu, and there are many options for fake meats at the grocery store.

Q: Isn't being Vegan expensive?

A: It doesn't have to be. I am spending less being vegan, than before when I ate meat. Vegetables are cheap, and I'm making most my own food from scratch instead of buying pre-made food. A package of Oreos Is going to be more expensive than cookies you make at home, not to mentions way healthier!

Q: Does it take a lot of time and effort to prepare Vegan meals?

A: It also doesn't have to be. Being Vegan does call for planning ahead. If you organize yourself, it can be easy.
